1500 Watt 110V or 230V 50/60Hz AC PAR regulator controller using an external potentiometer (not included). Provides adjustable up/down control of single-phase "universal" AC motors as used in power drills, vacuum cleaners, etc.
Modern triac based design with varistor output protection and interference suppression. Terminal block to connect external 10K linear potentiometer (not included - Order Code RE.POT.10KLIN-PLASTIC). Minimum speed is set using onboard trimmer.
Network sync trigger "I" supports the 2 network frequencies 50 / 60hz and detects them automatically.
Please note that the dc control signal input floats at mains potential and may not therefore be suitable for some applications like connection to DMX systems (see CR026 for an alternative option).
PRODUCT SELECTION NOTES: Suitable for controlling most 230Vac 50Hz single-phase "universal" motors, light regulators, 230V signals through automatisms, etc. NOT suitable for use with synchronous AC motors, capacitor-start/run AC motors or inductive loads like halogen or PL lamps, neon, etc.. Ask the manufacturer to confirm if their motor is suitable for control using a Phase Angle Regulation (PAR) style controller BEFORE you buy this product! The motor controller should have an output load capacity at least 25% above the motors peak power requirement. Please do NOT rely on motor rating plates for power consumption figures as they often quote average not peak power. You should verify the actual peak power at start-up and under full load before selecting an appropriate size motor controller.
