The K2634 Quad Triac Switch Card SELF-ASSEMBLY electronic kit offers is a solid state electronic switching alternative to mechanical relay controller boards and is suitable for high speed switching applications.
Relays are usually used to switch AC voltages by means of an electronic control signal because of their simplicity. However, when switching occurs too frequently or too quickly the life time of the contact points is shortened considerably.
This can be solved perfectly by replacing the relays with triacs. Using optocouplers, the entire interface network remains electrically isolated from the voltage that has to be switched.
This kit can be connected to kits K8000, K8023, K8046, K8050, K8055, K8055N or other boards with open collector output. Circuits that can provide a control current of 10mA or higher can also be used.
