4-Digit Up/Down Counter Module - Preset and Relay (100mm Digits)

The Cebek CD-5.4 module is a 4-digit UP / DOWN counter with PRESET function and relay output. Extra large 100mm (4.0") high digit LED display. Preset allows you to set a number in count UP mode. Once this number is reach the relay activates and the count stops (ideal for process control automation).

The counter starts at zero in Up mode or the Preset value in Down mode. The Up and Down inputs add or subtract 1 from the count value. The maximum count value is 9,999. Count wraps around to zero when 9,999 is reached or to 9,999 if count goes below zero.

Control Inputs - accept simple volt free make contact closure (e.g. a push button, relay closure) or injection of an external negative going pulse. The 5 control inputs are:

• Count Up - increase count by 1 for each input
• Count Down - decrease count by 1 for each input
• Trigger - sets relay to activate on reaching Preset value (or zero depending on Mode settings below)
• Reset - zeros the count and display in count Up mode or resets to the preset number in Down mode
• Next - allows counting on (up or down) when Preset is reached (or zero depending on Mode settings below)

Programmable Modes - the board can be programmed to operate as follows:

• Preset Value - the number on which the counter will stop (or start in Down mode)
• Count Mode - UP: start counting up (or down) from zero or DOWN: start counting down (or up) from Preset value
• Relay Activation - on count Up equal to Preset value or on count Down equal to Zero
• Input Frequency Filter - 100 Hz or 4KHz debounce
• Option to save last count number to memory on power loss (close JP1 header pins - Jumper not included)

The counter always stops when the count equals the Preset value (or zero depending on mode set). Reset or Next must be used to continue.

The counter comprises a control board and separate display board connected by a 20cm ribbon cable to allow versatile mounting options.
