This stabilised constant speed DC motor controller is specially designed for controlling hand-held mini drills or other permanent magnet DC motors. It includes current feedback circuitry that automatically increases the output voltage when the motor is under a higher load. Can handle continuous loads of up to 3 Amps.
One potentiometer is used to adjust the working voltage and a second sets the maximum automatic voltage adjustment from 0 to 5Vdc.
When used with a mini-drill, it allows you to adjust the speed to suit the job at hand. Speed is not affected by the hardness of the material being drilled.
Circuit uses the well known TIP2955 Bipolar Power Transistor and an L200 voltage and current regulator IC with overload and thermal protection.
Kit includes all board mounted components, heatsink and solder for assembly.
PRODUCT SELECTION NOTES: The motor controller should have an output load capacity at least 25% above the motors peak power requirement. Please do NOT rely on motor rating plates for power consumption figures as they often quote average not peak power. You should verify the actual peak power at start-up and under full load before selecting an appropriate size motor controller.
