This fully assembled PIR movement sensor detector module offers a number of useful features including adjustable sensitivity and adjustable on-time duration. It offers two operating modes:
Non-retriggerable Mode (L): When triggered, the output goes high and will turn off after the on-time period has elapsed even if the sensor is still detecting movement. A factory set early retrigger prevention delay of about 5 seconds must pass before movement can retrigger the output
Retriggerable Mode (H): When triggered, the output goes high and will remain high after the on-time period has elapsed if the sensor is still detecting movement. The output will remain on until no movement is detected during the delay countdown
On-time is adjustable from 5-300 seconds.
The board has pads to connect additional components not supplied as standard:
Position marked RT: designed to accept a thermistor for automatic temperature compensation
Position marked RL: designed to accept a photoresistor or LDR to stop output activating during the day or when light is bright (Order Code QMA814-RL).
The sensor uses passive infrared (PIR) technology. If offers high sensitivity, ultra-low voltage mode and high reliability. It is ideal for use in security products, alarm systems, lighting control, industrial automation, toys, etc.
